Logistik & Produktion
Hi!
We are Black Chili, a young and innovative company creating extremely sharp kitchen knives. Our knives are designed in Berlin, forged by experienced blacksmiths in Asia, quality-checked in our Berlin warehouse, and sold across Europe.
Our team consists of around 10 people. We work closely together, meet at eye level, and value personal responsibility, reliability, and a good sense of humor in our everyday work.
Your role
You will work closely with our warehouse manager and two colleagues in our Berlin warehouse, located just a short walk from Rathaus Neukölln (U-Bahn).
The position involves 15–20 hours per week, spread over 2–3 fixed days.
Our working languages are German and English — basic English skills are essential.
The work is hands-on, structured, and at times repetitive. You will often perform similar tasks with a high level of precision and consistency — this is an important part of the role.
Your tasks
- Individual quality control of each knife
- Hand-packaging knives and preparing shipments for our fulfillment center and B2B customers
- Assisting with the production and assembly of handmade, in-house packaging
- Supporting and improving warehouse workflows — we care about efficiency and smart processes
- General warehouse logistics, organization, and related tasks
This role involves careful, precise, hands-on work. Pride in doing things properly, paying attention to detail, and handling products responsibly is essential.
What you bring
- Enrollment at a German university and eligibility to work as a working student
- Availability for at least two fixed days per week
- Enjoyment of physical, hands-on work
- Comfort with structured, repetitive tasks that require focus and consistency
- Willingness and ability to lift and move heavy boxes as part of daily warehouse work
- Ideally, an interest in chef’s knives, craftsmanship, or tools
- A team-oriented mindset and a reliable, thoughtful way of working
- Basic English skills for everyday communication
What we offer
- A stable working student role with consistent weekly hours
- A straightforward, well-structured working environment — no office chaos or constant task switching
- Hands-on insight into logistics, processes, and quality management
- Hourly wage: 17 €
- A small, motivated, and friendly team
We’ve found that people who enjoy structured, hands-on work and take pride in doing things carefully tend to stay and enjoy this role the most.
